Important message regarding Coronavirus

In light of the rapidly changing situation with the Coronavirus we would like to reassure all library customers that measures are being put in place to help you.

The most important message we'd like to communicate right now is, please don't worry about incurring charges for the late return of items during this difficult time. We can assure you that any charges incurred due to not being able to return items will be cleared when you manage to return them.

We also hope you will find the following points helpful when managing your use of the library service.

  • Any items you have on loan can be renewed online at www.librarieswest.org.uk by logging on to your account with your library membership number & PIN. If you don't know your PIN, click on 'Log In' and then 'Forgot my PIN' and you should receive an automated email prompting you to reset the PIN. If the email doesn't arrive within a few minutes, please check your junk or spam folder.
  • Loans can also be renewed on the LibrariesWest app which is free to download.
  • All loans will be renewed until the 2nd of July.
  • We have suspended the reservation service so unfortunately you will not be able to place any new reservations. We recommend using the 'My Lists' feature to store any lists of items you may want to reserve once normal service has resumed.
  • All existing reservations have been suspended until further notice but will remain active so you won't need to re-place them.
  • Any outstanding charges (subject to a £2 minimum) can be paid online using a debit or credit card or via Paypal by logging on to your account at www.librarieswest.org.uk.
  • We also offer e book, e audio book & e magazine download services which you can access for free with your library membership card.

We are here to help, so if you have any problems using any of our online services please do email us - librarieswest@somerset.gov.uk - and we will do our best to help.
