Join The Library
If you live, work or study in Bath and North East Somerset, Bristol, North Somerset. Somerset or South Gloucestershire you can join the library online. If you have lost your membership card please click here.
How to join online
Select the library that you wish to use as your home base from the list below. Once you have joined you will be able to use any of the libraries in LibrariesWest.
When you have entered your details you will be given a temporary membership number and PIN (Personal Identification Number). You can use these straight away to reserve items from our catalogue.
To borrow items and use the library computers, you will need to collect your membership card from a library. We will ask you to show us some proof of your current name and address (for example, a driving licence or utility bill).
Data protection: the personal details provided by you will be held on a database and any access to or disclosure of such details is subject to the provisions of the Data Protection Act 1998. The information will be accessible by Bath & North East Somerset, Bristol, North Somerset, Somerset and South Gloucestershire library services, for the purposes of administering library membership within LibrariesWest. If you wish to view or change your details at any time, you can do so on line or by contacting a member of library staff.
Occasionally we may send out emails regarding our products and services, that we believe may be of interest to you. We may also sometimes send you details of offers and services by mail.
Please select the library you wish to join as your home base.
If you are already a member of any LibrariesWest library you do not need to join again. Your card is now valid in all our libraries.
What do I do if I lose my membership card?
If you lose your membership card, you should let any LibrariesWest library know as soon as possible. It is important that you do this as soon as you discover the card is lost so that we can prevent anyone else from using it.
When you next visit a library, you will need some proof of identity and we will give you a replacement card, for which we may need to charge a small fee.
Until you have told us, you are responsible for any items borrowed on the card.
